The NBA kicked off its season last night and it didn’t disappoint as I enjoyed watching my hometown team the Chicago Bulls defeat the Detroit Pistons 115-111, but there was something else that brought back nostalgia as I watched the return of Michael “Air” Jordan.
It has been years since “His Airness” been in the NBA spotlight since the documentary “The Last Dance” and in an interview with Mike Tirico he talked about giving back to basketball as his desire to “pay it forward.”
However, what brought to my surprise is that at the age of 62, MJ rarely touches a basketball until one fateful day where he rented a home while watching the Ryder Cup and the owner of the home asked for a favor.
His grandchildren were at the residence and asked Jordan to take some pictures which he agreed, but then he asked the NBA legend to shoot one free throw from the court on his property that left Jordan nervous according to ESPN.
“The reason being is those kids heard the stories from the parents about what I did 30 years ago. So, their expectation is 30 years prior, and I haven’t touched a basketball.”
So, did Michael Jordan make the free throw?
Of course he did...
Welcome back to the NBA #23! We sure missed you.
